Jerome Barnes for State Representative District 28

Preparing for the future is our #1 job!

I have been a resident of Raytown since 1986, when I moved here with my wife Donna. I served honorably in the military for 6 years, and then worked for the United States Postal Service, recently 2009 retiring after 30 years as a Labor Relations Specialist.

I have been an active member of my community, contributing through volunteering and serving on various committees and boards. For example, I was a member of the School Advisory Board and served as Athletic Director for 5 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School here in Raytown and I also served on the Jackson County University of Missouri Extension Council. I am a member of the Raytown Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Shepherd Center board. I was the Raytown Sports Association (RSA) President for two years. I have coached and refereed sports in the Raytown community for more than 20 years.

I was elected to the Raytown C-2 Board of Education in 2011, and served to 2017. For the first time in history, Raytown South High School hosted a home varsity football game and the Raytown community is blessed to have a wellness center. This is the kind of leadership I have been a part of as a School Board Member. As your State Representative, I will continue to help deliver solutions that not only reflect our shared values as Raytown, but also benefit the lives of all Missouri.

I am running for reelect for State Representative because I want to take a more active part in the decision-making process in Jefferson City when it comes to Public Safety, working families, Education and Senior Citizens just to name a few. I am embarking on an important journey to bring results to Raytown, and I need your help to get there. Our state and neighborhoods face significant challenges today.  Raytown needs effective 21st-Century leadership that can bring people together and craft thoughtful consensus around bold answers to our biggest problems. I am looking forward to working hard on behalf of the citizens of District 28.

I am excited for what God has in store on this journey. Over the coming months I will be working hard on this opportunity to serve my community by reaching out to the voters of District 28. I look forward to hearing their stories and concerns. I humbly seek your prayers, your support and your donations. With your continued help, we will make our great city and state a better place for all of us.
